Sable d'Or - London
About This Spot
Stepping into Sable d'Or in Belsize Park feels like slipping into a quietly cherished corner of London, where the pace gently slows and time seems to soften. The warm, intimate space hums with subtle conversations, clinking cups, and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee intertwined with baked delights. It’s the kind of place that invites quiet moments of reflection or easy catch-ups with friends, wrapped in an atmosphere both cozy and thoughtful.
Here, breakfast and brunch take center stage, but never in a rush—each offering feels carefully crafted, balancing simple, honest ingredients with a subtle French patisserie charm. From the richness of perfectly poached eggs draped in hollandaise to the gentle sweetness of cinnamon-soaked French toast, every bite reflects a nurturing attention to detail. The mix of wholesome, organic elements with indulgent pastries creates a rhythm that’s both healthful and comforting, a place where morning rituals unfold naturally.
The service is quietly attentive, with staff who remember your usual and greet you with a gentle familiarity that turns first visits into repeated returns. This understated kindness permeates the space, fostering a calm and relaxed environment that often contrasts with the city’s bustling tempo. It’s a spot where the neighborhood’s calm elegance meets the warmth of genuine human moments—whether in a shared table conversation, a friendly hello across the room, or the simple joy of a well-made coffee that feels tailored just for you.

We came to have breakfast and the avocado toast was great, my boyfriend had the French toast and it was amazing. Plenty of savoury options but also lots of patries. We tried a pear pastry and the red velvet muffin and they were lovely. Staff and ambience was also really good. Lovely place.

Noticed this french looking patisserie, food looked amazing, looked expensive but its not, i had a full breakfast , what came was a large plate of free range eggs, fresh spinach with dressing , mushrooms, organic toms , baked beans, merguire sausage and sour dough bread , filled whole plate. Top class breakfast in a top class neighbourhood. A proper french breakfast. Thank you

I LOVE this cafe. We stumbled across it due to our Airbnb being around the corner. We found ourself just coming back due to the service. He remembered our order which was delicious coffee and pastries!!! Couldn’t recommend this place enough
